AMIT GUHA, A.I.R. & T.V. artiste, T.V. actor and a disciple of Pt. Jayanta Bose, is a popular Folk Singer of Kolkata who sings bengali traditional & modern folk songs. Some songs are  backed with fusion flavour . Apart from bengali songs, he also sings Punjabi, Bhojpuri  & Assamese folk songs. He  is accompanied by Banjo & Mandoline, Violin , Keyboard, Tabla, Dholok & Latin Percussions and Octapad .

He is a Scholar of State Music Academy. 

He received 'Fellowship' in the field of Rare Art forms from Department of Culture, Govt. of India on "The Ethnic Songs of West Bengal" in the year 1996.

In 1997, he has worked as a "Sahakari Gabeshak" (Research Assistant) of West Bengal State Music Academy under Kankan Bhattacharjee in a project for collecting folk music from Birbhum District.

He went to Germany in 1999 with Kabir Suman  ( Singer, Lyricist & Music Director ) to perform folk music in public shows.

 

In 2003, his album "De De Pal Tule De" has been released by HMV  SA RE GA MA .
